Sound & Vision is a full-service entertainment publicity firm. Our mission is to provide efficient, highly targeted press outreach for not only the indie film space, but also reaching outward to indie music, live performance, comedy, and beyond. We actually put in the work and the research and craft specialized plans that get even the smallest project noticed by the right people.

Putting it mildly, the world is changing so rapidly – and the change has reverberated throughout the entertainment industry. Our jobs are harder now. There is a glut of content and it’s nearly impossible to make a dent in the face of big budget fare.

With this, we understand that we can’t rely on the usual suspects to bring attention to a given work. There are podcasts, there are YouTube channels, there are Substacks… all manner of different strategies and pathways for a highly successful campaign. And yes, when the conditions are there for your movie, we really know how to get that Certified Fresh.

who we are

Sound & Vision marks the new chapter in the PR collaboration between Caitlin Hughes and Pat King. We started working together over a decade ago, when Caitlin was running film campaigns in agency life and Pat was the Features Editor at Metro. Our publicist/journalist dynamic continued up until 2023, when Pat decided to transition to the publicity side of things.

An obvious Bowie reference, Sound & Vision is meant to bridge the gap between different forms of media, approaching it in thoughtful, creative ways. While Caitlin runs film and Pat runs music, their interests and passions find a common ground, working on all the things together with a shared enthusiasm for the arts.

  • Caitlin Hughes is a Brooklyn-based entertainment publicist and human. She had been working under her own PR LLC, Caitlin Hughes PR, since 2017.  Since then, clients have distribution companies including Drafthouse Films, Oscilloscope, Utopia, FilmRise, Yellow Veil Pictures, and the new digital distributor Narrative; arthouse theaters including Nitehawk Cinemas, and Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn; film festivals including BAMcinemaFest, and Indie Memphis; in addition to American Documentary’s longrunning docuseries POV, airing on PBS. Prior to starting her own firm, Hughes cut her teeth at Brigade Marketing, where she led such high-profile campaigns as Sean Baker’s Tangerine. She later ran original programming publicity at Vimeo, including John Early and Kate Berlant’s webseries 555, directed by Andrew DeYoung (Friendship, The Chair Company). When not doing publicity, Caitlin loves making silly embroidery projects, getting outside with her dog, and cooking elaborate dinners.

  • Pat King is a Philly-based publicist, musician, and writer. As a “reformed music and film journalist” with close to a decade in the field, he brings a unique experience to the table as someone who can understand what may seem appealing to an editorial staff when pitching your creative endeavors. In the past, he has worked as the features editor for Metro New York and Metro Boston and served as the host of the In Conversation podcast at Ears To Feed. His work can be found in The New York Daily News, Paste Magazine, Bandcamp, Aquarium Drunkard, SPIN Magazine, and elsewhere. He began working with Caitlin Hughes PR in the winter of 2023 immediately helping with campaigns on films that led to coverage in esteemed publications such as The New York and LA Times, and beyond. As an active member of the music scene, he leads the acclaimed band Labrador. Moving forward, he looks to use his connections in the press world to help those in the DIY music community to get the word out about their projects as a way to give back to his roots.
